How can the followers of the Nation of Islam, led by Louis Farrakhan, be convinced that their ideas—which sanctify nationalism, deny the prophethood of Muhammad (peace be upon him), and some of which claim divinity—are misguided, with evidence from the Quran and Sunnah?

The "Nation of Islam" group was established in Detroit in 1930 by Wallace D. Fard, who was then succeeded by Elijah Muhammad, and subsequently by Warith Deen Mohammed.

The group went through three phases:

1. The Era of Wallace D. Fard: This phase focused on improving the conditions of Black people, asserting the superiority of the Black race, describing white people as devils, and converting its followers to the Quran while also drawing from the Bible.

2. The Era of Elijah Muhammad: He declared Fard to be God incarnate and claimed prophethood for himself. He prohibited gambling, alcohol, and fornication, reinforced the superiority of the Black race, and contempt for white people. He did not believe in angels or physical resurrection. He believed he was the Seal of the Prophets, believed in the revelation of a special book for Black people, and his followers fasted in December. These beliefs are considered disbelief (kufr).

3. The Era of Warith Deen Mohammed: He attempted to correct the group's concepts, changing its name to "the Bilalians," allowing white people to join, and endorsing the fasting of Ramadan (definition) and proper Islamic prayer.

Then emerged "Farrakhanism," led by Louis Farrakhan, who revived most of Elijah Muhammad's deviated beliefs, such as God creating Himself, Black people being gods, white people being devils, that Muhammad was sent only to Arabs, that Elijah Muhammad is the Seal of the Messengers, and that resurrection is spiritual, not physical. He also deified Elijah Muhammad, claiming he did not die but was resurrected. These beliefs are disbelief (kufr) and have no connection to Islam.
