What is the ruling on traveling to Western foreign countries for tourism and recreation for a period of two or three weeks?

Traveling to the lands of the disbelievers merely for leisure is not permissible according to many scholars, due to the exposure to evil deeds and temptations without necessity or need. Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen clarified that traveling to the lands of the disbelievers is forbidden except under three conditions: possessing knowledge to repel doubts, possessing religious commitment to protect against desires, and having a need for it, such as seeking knowledge that is unavailable elsewhere, or treatment for an illness, or necessary trade. He warned against the corruption of morals and beliefs for those who travel for leisure.
