The answer

The journey that permits concessions is one whose distance is four burud, approximately 83 kilometers. This distance is calculated for the outward journey only, and from the point of leaving the city's built-up area. If the distance is less than that, concessions are not permissible. Therefore, sexual intercourse during daylight hours of is not allowed. The husband must make up for that day, and expiation is also required of him if he was not ignorant of the ruling. As for the wife, she is only required to make up the day if she broke her fast due to travel, and nothing is due from her because of the intercourse, as it occurred while she was already breaking her fast with a legitimate concession.
