Firstly: It is permissible for the parents to eat from the Aqiqah. The Aqiqah should be "jadwal," meaning its limbs are cut from the joints, and its bones are not broken.

Secondly: It is sunnah to shave the boy's head and slaughter the Aqiqah on the seventh day, based on the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who said: "Every child is mortgaged by his Aqiqah, which is slaughtered on his seventh day, and he is named on it, and his head is shaved." However, if he is named or the Aqiqah is slaughtered on a day other than the seventh, there is no harm. Similarly, there is no harm if it is slaughtered on one day and his head is shaved on another.
