It is permissible to place an interdiction on a father if his mind has deteriorated and he is no longer capable of managing his wealth properly. His legal capacity should be referred to the Sharia court to consider his case. It is obligatory for a person of means to spend reasonably on those whose maintenance is incumbent upon him. If he refuses to do so and advice is ineffective, there is no harm in litigating against him.
