Can there be forgiveness for one of the Hadd punishments ordained by Allah, such as for unlawful sexual intercourse (zina), for example?

Forgiveness and concealment for someone who has committed one of Allah's prescribed punishments (hudud) are permissible as long as the matter has not reached the ruler. If it reaches the ruler, there is no forgiveness, no pardon, and no intercession. Rather, the ruler must enforce the punishment, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Forgive each other the prescribed punishments amongst yourselves, for any punishment that reaches me has become obligatory," and his saying: "Avoid these abominations that Allah has forbidden. Whoever commits any of them should conceal himself with Allah's concealment and repent to Allah. For whoever exposes his fault to us, we will apply Allah's كتاب (Book) upon him."
