Is it permissible to combine and shorten prayers when traveling for study for two and a quarter years, considering the view that allows this for nineteen days or six months, and is this considered a blameworthy concession?

The issue of whether an ordinary person is permitted to follow someone who issues a fatwa that contradicts the four Imams and the majority of their companions is a matter of disagreement among scholars. Ibn Al-Qayyim, Ibn Uthaymeen, and others have favored its permissibility. When scholars differ, the ordinary person should follow the one they trust most. If they are equally trustworthy, they are free to choose which one to follow. If your trust in the one who issues this fatwa is greater than your trust in others, then there is no blame upon you for following them.
