Is winking by way of joking forbidden due to the existence of the two noble verses: "Woe to every slanderer, defamer" and "A great slanderer, going about with calumnies"?

It is stated in "Lisan al-Arab" that the "Hammaz" (slanderer) is one who finds fault in a person's absence, and the "Lammaz" (backbiter) is one who backbites in a person's presence. Both include slandering by eye or tongue. Allah has forbidden backbiting and mockery in His Almighty saying: "O you who have believed, let not a people ridicule [another] people" and "nor backbite some of you another." Based on this, winking with the eye for laughter, if it involves mockery or backbiting, is forbidden. However, if it is merely for enjoyment and laughter without mockery, then there is no harm in it.
