Is it sufficient to wipe the water retained in the vagina with a tissue after ablution, or is it obligatory to repeat Istinja (cleansing) with water? And is it necessary to wash the garment if some of this water gets on it? What is the difference between the inner and outer parts of the vagina, and how can they be distinguished?

The water remaining on the outer surface of the vulva after istinja' (cleansing oneself after relieving oneself) is pure (tahir) and does not necessitate purification or washing the clothes it touches. However, if water comes from inside the vulva, it is impure (najis), and one must perform istinja' again and purify the clothes.

The advice is not to exaggerate in istinja' by washing the inner part of the vulva, and to suffice with washing only what appears when sitting down.
