Is it permissible to wash the inner part of the vulva when cleaning oneself (istinja'), and is the water that comes out of it after entering it impure?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

Washing the inner part of the private parts during istinja' (ablution after relieving oneself) is not prescribed and is blameworthy. Jurists have explicitly stated that it is an act of the innovators and causes obsessive doubts (waswasah). It is sufficient to wash only the outer part of the exit. Introducing water inside is an act of extremism in religion. To treat waswasah regarding purity, one must completely ignore it, avoid prolonging one's stay in the restroom, and sprinkle water on the private parts and trousers after istinja'.
