It is impermissible to draw or depict animate beings, for this involves imitating Allah's creation, as in the Hadith narrated by Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The people who will be most severely punished by Allah on the Day of Resurrection are those who imitate Allah's creation." As for drawing an eye and a mouth on a spoon, this does not fall under the prohibited imagery, due to the absence of imitation and because it is an incomplete image.
