Is slaughtering a sheep or distributing its price to the poor the solution for warding off the evil eye suspected of afflicting a car that experienced sudden malfunctions after its purchase? And are these malfunctions truly due to the envy of some people? And how can the evil eye and envy be repelled?

The evil eye is real, but its harm does not occur except by Allah's decree. A Muslim should not surrender to delusions. The evil eye is repelled by lawful incantations such as the Two Protectors (Surahs Al-Falaq and An-Nas), washing oneself with the water used by the person who cast the evil eye, and giving charity with the intention of healing. Sacrificing a sheep in itself is not a lawful remedy.
