The blood money (Diyah) is inherited by the following: the mother, who receives one-sixth; and the paternal grandfather (father's father), who receives one-third of the remainder after the mother's share. As for the maternal grandfather (mother's father), he does not inherit.

The rest of the Diyah goes to the brothers and sisters, with the male receiving the equivalent of the share of two females.

The grandmother and paternal uncles are excluded from inheritance, and the paternal aunts are not inheritors in the first place.

If the deceased had other wealth besides the Diyah, the mother inherits one-third of it, and the father inherits the remainder.

If the Diyah is from insurance, it is waived for the 'Aqilah (male relatives responsible for paying blood money), unless it is less than the legal Diyah, in which case the 'Aqilah must complete it.
