Which is the greater crime: murder or adultery?

The crimes of murder and adultery are among the greatest sins and major transgressions, but murder is greater and more heinous. This is due to Allah Almighty's saying: "And whoever kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell, wherein he will abide eternally, and Allah has become angry with him and has cursed him and has prepared for him a great punishment." (An-Nisa: 93), and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "A man will continue to be in a state of ease concerning his religion as long as he does not shed unlawful blood."
