What is the ruling on a man celebrating his wedding with his bride in a hall where there are non-mahram women?

The bridal platform is an ancient custom that has evolved, and people have introduced objectionable practices onto it, such as women dancing, musical instruments (ma'azif), and the intermingling of men and women. This includes the husband sitting with his wife on the platform in front of unveiled women, which leads to him looking at non-mahrams and incites fitna (temptation/strife).

Scholars have issued fatwas prohibiting the husband from sitting on the platform with his wife in front of women, because it leads to unlawful looking and fitna. The husband might see women more beautiful than his wife, which would diminish his wife's standing in his eyes.
