The answer

The content of this supplication is sound in meaning, and there is no harm in supplicating with its content, due to the generality of the Prophet’s (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying: "Let each of you choose for himself from supplication what he likes most, and then supplicate Allah, the Almighty and Exalted." However, the wording of this supplication is not authentically transmitted from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). It is better for a person to seek out the supplications from the Qur’an and Sunnah and suffice himself with them, for the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) preferred comprehensive supplications and left aside others. This supplication is not among the comprehensive supplications, so supplicating with other comprehensive supplications (jawami' al-kalim) is more appropriate.
