Did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) fast and shorten the prayer during the Conquest of Mecca?

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and his Companions shortened their prayers and broke their fast in Mecca for nineteen days during its conquest. He used to order the people of Mecca to complete their prayers because they were residents. Scholars differed regarding the duration that terminates the ruling of travel. What is adopted by us as the fatwa is that the intention to reside for four full days terminates the ruling of travel. Their evidence for this is that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stayed in Mecca for four days during the Farewell Pilgrimage, shortening his prayers. However, if a traveler enters a country and has a task whose end date is unknown, he continues to observe the rulings of travel, even if his stay is prolonged. This is because the Prophet (peace and and blessings be upon him) stayed in Tabuk for twenty days, shortening his prayers, and in Mecca during the year of the conquest for nineteen days, also shortening his prayers.
