What is the ruling on a general practitioner, who is not specialized, learning the basics of obstetrics and gynecology theoretically and practically?

The mixing of men and women is not permissible except out of necessity or an urgent need. A male doctor is not permitted to see the 'awrah (intimate parts) of women unless there is a necessity that cannot be averted otherwise. If a woman develops an ulcer in a place that a man is not allowed to look at, another woman should treat her. If no woman is available, a man may treat her while lowering his gaze as much as possible, except for the site of the ulcer itself. Medicine is a collective obligation (fard kifaya), and a doctor must fear Allah in their specialization and avoid mixing with women or looking at their 'awrahs, unless there is an urgent necessity.
