Is one judged to be a hypocrite if the characteristics of hypocrites mentioned in the Hadith are found in him, knowing that hypocrisy is related to the inner self and that judging a specific individual as a hypocrite became impossible after the death of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and is it valid to describe him as a hypocrite if the Hadith is interpreted as referring to practical hypocrisy?

Hypocrisy is of two types: hypocrisy in belief (major), which expels one from the fold of Islam, and practical hypocrisy (minor), which does not expel one from the fold of Islam. The aforementioned hadith refers to practical hypocrisy, which does not expel its practitioner from the fold of Islam, but rather describes its practitioner as practically a hypocrite. It is permissible to apply the description of a hypocrite to someone in whom the signs of hypocrisy appear, even if he is not inwardly a hypocrite, because judgment of people is based on their outward manifestations. The actions mentioned in the hadith, such as betrayal, lying, treachery, and belligerence in disputes, are among the characteristics of practical hypocrisy. These characteristics do not render their practitioner a disbeliever, but rather make him similar to hypocrites and possessing their manners.
