Is it permissible for a father to transfer ownership of his apartment to one of his sons through a sale, while providing a rented apartment for another son? And is this considered an alteration to the method of distributing inheritance?

A father must be just among his children in gifts and presents, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) words to Bashir when he wanted him to witness a gift he had given to his son Nu'man: "Do you have any child other than this one?" He replied, "Yes." The Prophet said, "Have you given all of them the like of what you have given to this one?" He replied, "No." The Prophet then said, "Then do not make me a witness, for I do not witness injustice." And in another narration: "Would it please you that they all treat you equally well?" He said, "Yes." The Prophet said, "Then not this way." If the father cannot give to all his children, he should not give to one without giving to the others.
