What is the ruling on a wife going to pray Tahajjud in a mosque far from home where the imam recites many parts [of the Qur’an], which may lead to her returning just before Fajr or after sunrise, and is she allowed to go despite her husband's disapproval?

A woman is not permitted to go to the mosque for prayer without her husband's permission. Obeying him in this matter is one of the greatest acts of devotion to Allah. A woman's prayer in her home is better than her prayer in the mosque. Indeed, it was the practice of some of the wives of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, to remain in their prayer places after the Fajr prayer. Furthermore, it is often the case that a woman who is overly committed to acts of worship may neglect her duties towards her husband and children. The husband is advised to cooperate with his wife in acts of obedience and to treat her kindly.
