Will anyone who associated partners with Allah have an excuse on the Day of Judgment that will save him from Hellfire, and has the proof been established against the People of the Book in our current era, based on noble verses such as: "Indeed, he who associates others with Allah—Allah has forbidden him Paradise, and his refuge is the Fire. And for the wrongdoers there will be no helpers" and "Indeed, Allah does not forgive association with Him, but He forgives what is less than that for whom He wills"?

The Quran, Sunnah, and scholarly consensus (Ijma') all indicate that anyone who professes a religion other than Islam is an infidel (kafir), their religion is rejected, and in the Hereafter, they will be among the losers. The People of the Book who did not believe in Muhammad (peace be upon him), or associated partners with Allah, or denied his prophethood, are infidels. Therefore, whoever believes in some prophets and disbelieves in others is truly an infidel.

The People of the Book in our era fall into two categories:

1. Those who have received the call of Islam and have heard of the Prophet but have not believed: These are infidels in this world, and they will abide eternally in Hellfire if they die upon their disbelief. We do not believe that anyone from them deviates from this category. 2. Those whom the call of Islam has not reached and who have not heard of the Prophet: Their ruling in the Hereafter is a matter of scholarly disagreement, and the most probable opinion is that they will be tested on the Day of Judgment. However, in this world, they are infidels by the consensus of the Muslims, and the rulings pertaining to infidels apply to them.

Whoever denies the disbelief of Jews and Christians or doubts it is an infidel, because they are denying the statement of Allah Almighty: ﴿And whoever desires a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted from him, and in the Hereafter, he will be among the losers.﴾
