What is the ruling on holding beauty queen pageants in Muslim countries, participating in them, and following them, along with imitating beauty queens?

It is impermissible to hold beauty pageants because they involve violating sacred limits and exposing the awrat (private parts) of girls, encouraging them to abandon modesty and Islamic ethics. Allah (Exalted is He) says: {O children of Adam, let not Satan tempt you as he removed your parents from Paradise, stripping them of their clothing to show them their private parts. Indeed, he and his tribe see you from where you do not see them. Indeed, We have made the devils allies to those who do not believe} [Al-Araf: 27]. And Allah (Exalted is He) says: {And tell the believing women to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts and not expose their adornment except that which [necessarily] appears thereof and to wrap [a portion of] their headcovers over their chests and not expose their adornment except to their husbands or their fathers…} [An-Nur: 31]. It is also forbidden for guardians to allow participation in them. Whoever permits this is feared to be a dayyuth (a man who has no ghira, or protective jealousy, over his female family members). The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Three will not be looked at by Allah Almighty on the Day of Resurrection: the one who disobeys his parents, the woman who imitates men, and the dayyuth."
