If the father commits major sins, he must hasten to repentance, the most dangerous of which is abandoning prayer. It is not permissible to benefit from his unlawfully acquired wealth if it is specifically prohibited, such as usurped or stolen property. However, it is permissible to benefit from wealth that is mixed with both lawful and unlawful elements. The mother should advise her husband, and if that does not work, she should seek a divorce.
