The answer

Beer that contains alcohol is subject to the same ruling as intoxicants [khamr]. Therefore, it is not permissible for the husband to drink it or to compel his wife to do so, and the wife must refuse to obey him in this matter. It is not permissible to marry someone who consumes intoxicants, as he is a transgressor [fasiq], and it is not permissible for a guardian [wali] to marry off his ward to a transgressor. If the guardian does so, the ruler [hakim] shall separate them. It is not permissible for a woman to speak with a non-mahram man—even if he is a suitor—about these forbidden matters. If there is a need for permissible conversation, it must be conducted appropriately, without privacy [khalwa] or softening of the voice [khudu' bil-qawl].
