Is a wife permitted to refuse intimacy with her husband who is addicted to watching pornography, and who has reached the point of enjoying watching children in indecent situations; and what is the ruling on his family's refusal to spend on their children, under the pretext that the wife is the one seeking divorce?
If attempts at reform are unsuccessful, the wife should weigh the benefits and harms of divorce against remaining with her husband. She should choose the lesser of two evils: if remaining with the husband—with good companionship and no shortcomings on her part—is less harmful than divorce, then that is preferable, and she should busy herself with raising the children to compensate for what she lacks in her husband. However, if remaining with him harms her and she is unable to fulfill his rights, then divorce is preferable. In all cases, patience and seeking Allah's pleasure will not be unrewarded, as Allah Almighty says: "Indeed, whoever fears Allah and is patient, then indeed, Allah does not allow to be lost the reward of those who do good."
