What is the ruling on frequent swearing to perform acts of worship or permissible daily actions, and does failing to fulfill them entail expiation or sin?

Excessive swearing is not a characteristic of believers, and it is prohibited in the Quran. If you swore to clean anything in the house, you must fulfill your oath by cleaning what is customarily considered dirty. You are not obligated to clean immediately unless you intended to do so. Expiation is not required unless you fail to clean what you swore to clean. You might be afflicted with waswasa (obsessive whispering); therefore, cast aside these whispers and pay no attention to them.
