The question

There were some inappropriate interactions between me and my fiancé, without actual intercourse. This happened less than a week after my period ended and ten days before Ramadan. Now, my period is about 28 days late, and I can’t go for a pregnancy test due to personal circumstances. I’m very anxious and afraid I might be pregnant, even though there was no penetration. Is pregnancy possible in this case? And what can I do now?

The answer

"Praise be to Allah, and prayers and peace be upon the Messenger of Allah and on his family and companions. As for what follows:

The suitor is a stranger to his fiancée before the contract, so it is not permissible for him to be alone with her, touch her, or converse with her without need. What has occurred between you of matters of enjoyment is a great wrongdoing that requires repentance. If a pregnancy occurs from this forbidden association, it is not permissible to abort the fetus, and it is not permissible for the suitor - according to many scholars - to marry before the pregnancy is delivered, nor is the child attributed to him.
