Is it permissible to offer a sacrificial animal as a ransom for the household members against the evil eye and envy, and to seek blessings and healing?

Slaughtering animals to ward off the evil eye, envy, and evils resembles the pre-Islamic customs of repelling jinn, which was called "sacrifices to the jinn." The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, abolished and forbade this practice.

This act is considered an exaltation of polytheism, even if Allah's name is mentioned over it, as it parallels what was sacrificed on altars and what was offered to other than Allah. Slaughtering with this intention is impermissible, whereas slaughtering is permissible as an act of drawing closer to Allah, or as an expression of gratitude for His blessings, or as charity to the poor and needy, or as a way of strengthening ties with family and neighbors.
