What is the ruling on the vocal rhythms currently incorporated into anasheeds?

It is not permissible for anasheeds (Islamic chants/songs) to be accompanied by music or anything similar, such as certain computer-generated rhythms that delight listeners. This is because it constitutes imitation of the people of immorality and wantonness, and because such accompaniments might be more enchanting and impactful than forbidden musical instruments. An exception is made for the daff (tambourine) in specific circumstances, and for rhythms that resemble its sound, which are permissible to listen to in the same circumstances.
