Can anyone bring the dead back to life?

Among the fundamentals of sound belief is faith that Allah alone grants life and causes death. Whoever claims that anyone other than Allah has this power has committed an act of disbelief. Even the polytheists did not attribute this to their deities. The Quranic verses have clarified the inability of the purported deities to grant life or cause death, and that Jesus, peace be upon him, revived the dead only by the permission of Allah, not through his own inherent power. As for Nimrod's claim to Abraham, peace be upon him, regarding his ability to grant life and cause death, it was false and was refuted when Abraham challenged him. Therefore, no human being has the right to claim the ability to revive the dead.
