Which is better in Ramadan: dedicating oneself to worship or seeking knowledge?

Ramadan is a great month for worship, in which the Quran was revealed and good deeds are multiplied. The Prophet (PBUH) and the early generations strove hard in worship during this month, especially in reciting the Quran, generosity, and benevolence. Some of them even left scholarly gatherings to devote themselves fully to worship. A Muslim should seize the opportunity of this month by increasing acts of obedience and righteousness, with the possibility of attending light scholarly gatherings as long as they do not distract him from the essential functions of Ramadan.
