Would you please deliver a lecture on lying?

Allah mentioned lying in the Holy Quran in about two hundred verses, all of which either condemn it or explain its dire consequences. Lying is informing about something contrary to its true nature, knowingly and intentionally. It is a major sin that leads to Hellfire, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Indeed, lying leads to immorality, and immorality leads to Hellfire." Lying also leads to curses and expulsion from Allah's mercy, and it is one of the characteristics of hypocrites. Lying is forbidden and has categories: lying about Allah and His Messenger, lying to people, and claiming to have seen a dream that one did not see. Lying is permitted in only three instances: in war, in reconciling disputes, and in a man's conversation with his wife and a woman's conversation with her husband.
