What is the ruling on swearing an oath by triple divorce in a moment of intense anger regarding bringing one's wife to Egypt, with no intention of doing so, and what is the ruling if the wife swears the same oath that she will not enter the apartment in Egypt in my absence?

Anger does not prevent divorce unless it overcomes the intellect. If you utter the divorce while aware of what you are saying, then anger does not affect it. If you break your oath, your divorce takes place as three repudiations, and this is the view of the majority. The preponderant view is that the consideration in an oath is the intention and purpose of the swearer, for intention specifies the general and restricts the absolute. If you intended by your oath to send your wife to her country within a certain period, and you did not do so until the period expired, or she went to her country and entered your house in your absence, then the three divorces occur. However, if you did not intend a specific time, then she is divorced at the last possible time. The Malikis believe that the resolve not to do what was sworn upon is considered a breach of oath.
