Why is the dowry not considered compensation for sexual enjoyment, despite the narration: "If you have been truthful to her with what you have made lawful of her private parts"?

Islam has ordained great wisdoms for the Mahr (dowry), among them honoring the woman, highlighting the importance of the marriage contract, and enabling the wife to prepare for marriage. The Mahr is not a compensation for intimacy; rather, it is a gift from the husband. The proof for this is that Allah named it a "gift" (Niḥlah), and both spouses share in the enjoyment.
