Is abortion permissible before four months?

Abortion is absolutely impermissible, whether before the ensoulment, due to its involving the destruction of offspring, or after it, due to its involving the killing of a soul without right. An exception to this is a case of necessity if the continuation of the fetus poses a danger to the mother's life. This is determined by the judgment of trustworthy and expert physicians.
