Lying and falsification are not permissible, and a Muslim should display the virtues of their religion in their conduct and dealings, even with non-Muslims. Among the recommendations of the European Council for is to abide by laws and work to improve the image of Islam. Insuring a home against theft and the like is permissible, but falsification, deception, and trickery to obtain what one does not deserve are not permissible.
