The vow to fast for a full month must be fulfilled. If one starts from the beginning of the month, they fast until its end, even if it is twenty-nine days. If one does not start from the beginning of the month, they fast for thirty days. If the intention was for consecutive fasting, then the nine days must be re-observed. Expiation is only required in the case of continuous inability, in which case an expiation for an oath suffices. If the impediment is removed, then the vow must be fulfilled. If the intention of "for life" means that the month is not consecutive, then consecutive fasting is not required, and it is sufficient to fast thirty days separately or a full month consecutively.
