Rather, you must seek a divorce from the husband or the court. It is the wife's right to have independent housing, and she is not obliged to live with the husband's family. The wedding feast (walimah) is a Sunnah and not obligatory according to the majority of jurists. It is advisable to reach an understanding with the husband before seeking a divorce.
