What is the ruling on what is known as the Prophetic dhikr in women's mourning gatherings, which includes beating the duff (tambourines), saying "Allahu Akbar" (takbirat), and reciting "Labbaik Allahumma Labbaik" (talbiyah) like during Hajj?

Beating drums in mourning gatherings and convening for condolences on the third day are reprehensible innovations and contrary to sound etiquette. They are considered a form of the forbidden wailing (niyāḥah). Legitimate condolences involve comforting the deceased's family with lawful supplications for them, without specifying a day, place, or time, or gathering people, or preparing food. The Companions considered gathering at the deceased's family's home and preparing food to be a form of wailing. If the condolence gathering involves innovations or forbidden acts, it is not permissible to attend it except for one who is able to denounce the evil.
