What is the ruling on canceling travel after performing the Prayers of الجمع (combining) and القصر (shortening), and not traveling the distance of Qasr?

It is permissible for someone who intends to travel to avail themselves of the travel concessions once they have departed from the populated area of their town. If a traveler intends to combine and shorten prayers after leaving the populated area, and then cancels their journey, their combining of prayers is valid, and they are not required to repeat the second prayer.
