Is it permissible for a menstruating woman to be present with her mother at the time of death?

Some scholars have held the view that it is disliked for a menstruating woman, a woman in postpartum bleeding (nifas (definition)), or a person in a state of major ritual impurity (junub) to be present at the side of a dying person (muhtadar). They supported this view by stating that angels dislike their proximity, and they mentioned that this dislike ceases in cases of need. Therefore, if there is no one else available, there is no harm in their presence.
