Is it obligatory to seek refuge (with Allah) upon hearing the braying of a donkey or the barking of a dog during the day, or is that specific to the night only?

It is sunnah to seek refuge in Allah from Satan upon hearing the braying of a donkey, whether at night or during the day. It has been reported in the authentic Sunnah that the donkey sees Satan, and the specification of seeking refuge at night in some narrations does not preclude seeking refuge during the day, as it is possible that the spread of devils is greater at night.
