Is it permissible to describe the Creator, Subhanahu wa Ta'ala, as "the Debater" (an-Naqqash) or "the Engraver" (an-Naqsh)? And is it permissible to describe Him with anything other than what He described Himself with or what our master Muhammad (peace be upon him) described Him with?

All of God's creation is beautiful, as stated in the verse: "Who perfected everything which He created," and in the Hadith: "Indeed, Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, has perfected everything He created." Therefore, it is not permissible to comment on anyone's appearance. As for the phrase "Allah is a painter," some exegetes attributed it to Luqman the Wise. There is no harm in using it if it is intended to convey information about Allah and to express texts through engraving or coloring, for Allah is Al-Musawwir (the Fashioner) and colored creation with different colors.
