Is a 60-day fast obligatory for someone who caused the death of a person in a traffic accident due to a venous thrombosis resulting from a fractured leg, knowing that the deceased and her family have pardoned him, and they are pursuing compensation with the insurance company?

If you caused an accident that led to a death, and you were not negligent or in violation of traffic laws, then there is no expiation (kaffarah) upon you, no blood money (diyah), and no sin.

However, if there was negligence on your part, then expiation and blood money are incumbent upon you (the latter is borne by the 'aqilah, and you are one of them). You can refer the heirs to the insurance company, unless they forgive.

If the woman forgave before her death, her forgiveness after her death is not valid, and the matter reverts to her guardians (awliya').

If the forgiveness after her death was issued by her guardians, the blood money is waived, but the expiation remains incumbent upon you, which is fasting for two consecutive months, along with repentance.
