What is the meaning of the phrase "he does not tell it except to a person of standing or one of sound judgment"?

A dream is like a bird perched on a man's head; if it is not interpreted, it will not fall, but if it is interpreted, it will fall. So, one should not narrate it except to a beloved friend, a person of sound judgment, an intelligent person, or a dear one. The last two descriptions explain the preceding ones: for the "intelligent person" (labeeb) is one knowledgeable in interpreting dreams, and the "dear one" (habeeb) is a sincere advisor who desires good for his companion. Scholars have clarified the reason for this: the knowledgeable person interprets it for good whenever possible, the advisor guides to what is beneficial, and the dear one, if he knows good, he speaks it, and if he is ignorant, he remains silent. As for one who does not love the dream-seer, he may interpret it in an unfavorable way out of envy or hatred, and it will then occur in that manner.
