What is the justice required of a husband between two wives regarding lodging when taking a vacation in the second wife's city, and what is the ruling on his not providing her with housing, not spending on her, and demanding her assistance in construction?
The husband must be just between his wives in terms of overnight stays, whether they are in the same city or two different cities. He must divide the days between them in a way that does not cause him undue hardship.
If the aforementioned division (five nights for one wife مقابل two nights for the other) is with the wife's consent, then there is no blame on him. However, if she is not content or has not waived her right, then he must compensate her for the deficit by increasing the period of her overnight stay, provided that he does not stay with her for more than three consecutive nights.
If the wife is the one who refused to go to the husband's city, then there is no blame on him.
The husband must also provide housing and maintenance for his wife. She has the right to demand this right, or to refer the matter to the judiciary if he refuses.
The wife is not obligated to help her husband with construction.
