Is God angry with me because of the envy I experience from my friend?

The evil eye is real, and protection from it is achieved by consistently reciting adhkar (remembrances) and seeking refuge [in Allah], adhering to acts of obedience, and concealing what one fears the evil eye upon. If you are afflicted by it or fear it, Ruqyah (Islamic exorcism/healing) is prescribed. What you mentioned might be mere delusions, so seek Allah's help, maintain acts of obedience and adhkar, and do not accuse your friend without proof. You can advise him to remember Allah when he sees something he admires, and you may distance yourself from him if you fear him. If an affliction is confirmed, ask him to perform ghusl (ritual washing) for you with his wash water.
