What is the ruling on a traveler returning to his country praying Dhuhr and Asr combined in delayed time (jam' ta'kheer) before the time for Asr expires, and does he pray them two rak'ahs or four?

If a traveler reaches his home during the time of prayer, he must perform the prayer in full (four rak'ahs for Dhuhr and Asr) because the ruling of travel ceases upon his arrival in his hometown. Therefore, he is not permitted to avail himself of the concessions of travel. There is no disagreement among scholars regarding the obligation to complete a prayer that was performed in its due time while at home. They differed concerning a prayer delayed by Jami' al-Ta'khir (combining by delay), whether it is considered performance (ada') or make-up (qada'), and the soundest opinion is that it is performance.
