How can humility before Allah Almighty be a source of honor for a person and not a shortcoming?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

Humbling oneself before Allah means submitting and yielding to Him, acknowledging His omnipotence, and recognizing one's need for His assistance. It is the ultimate form of servitude, for the most perfect among creation in servitude are those who are most humble, submissive, and obedient to Allah. A servant is inherently humble before Allah, both by choice and by compulsion, due to their need, poverty, weakness, and vulnerability, even if they deny it verbally. One of the greatest manifestations of humility is prostration. The servant's happiness lies in the completeness of their dependence on their Lord. If they humble themselves before Him, they attain honor and strength. Conversely, whoever is arrogant towards Him, He humiliates, and whoever refuses to humble themselves to Him by choice, Allah afflicts them with humility before others.
